Sapa Tour Prices & Private Guide Costs
Executive Summary
Sapa tour prices look chaotic because **the products are not the same thing**: a half-day town walk, a 10–12 km private valley day, a two-day walk with a family night, and a custom expedition are different bundles. Comparing a headline “Sapa tour” on a street board to a private Muong Hoa day is the wrong spreadsheet.
**Default priced day on this site:** the Easy Muong Hoa Valley Trek. Last published from **€32** per person. Prices may change. Please confirm the latest price before booking. Minimum **two paying guests**. English-speaking private guide, restaurant lunch, water, car from Ta Van back to town — as listed on the live page. Graded **Moderate**.
**Not a price list.** This page explains **value**: what you pay for, what you still pay extra, and when a cheaper format is the honest buy. Which day to book: Best Day Tours in Sapa. Which product at all: What Tour Should I Book in Sapa. Hostel-and-phở math: Sapa Budget & Daily Travel Costs.
Sapa Local Guides does **not** sell join-in group tours. Private vs Group Tours in Sapa. Private Sapa Expeditions has **no from-price**. This page has no Product, Offer, or live checkout. Confirm every figure on the product page.
Last published from-prices used below (per person, private, min two) — **not a quote**:

Why Sapa Tour Prices Vary
Street touts, hotel desks, and private operators are selling **different days**: viewpoint jeep, mixed walking group, private valley walk, overnight in a house. A low headline often omits lunch, the return car, insurance quality, or what the family is paid.
On **this** catalogue, price steps with **time, distance, meals, overnight, and vehicle**. Town Walk last published from €28 because it is a half-day in town. Easy Trek last published from €32 because it is a full private valley day with lunch and a Ta Van car. Full-Day last published from €45 because it adds kilometres, a family lunch, and a different finish. 2-Day last published from €98 because you add a second walking day and a homestay night. Family Homestay last published from €69 because it is a household bundle, not a 10–12 km trek. Prices may change. Please confirm the latest price before booking.
Longer catalogue treks exist on Which Sapa Trek Is Right for You. This page does not invent their numbers; read the live PDPs.
What Affects Cost
**Duration and overnight.** Hours of guide time. A night in a working home is not a €30 hotel substitute — Homestay vs Hotel in Sapa.
**What is bundled.** Guide language, lunch vs buy-your-own, valley car vs walking up to town, homestay meals, village fees where the product lists them.
**Whose day it is.** Private means your party’s clock. Join-in splits the van. Solo travellers on this site still meet a **two-guest floor**.
**Season and demand** change live rates. October weekends and Tet are not the same as a quiet March Tuesday. This page does not publish surge tables.
**What is never in the tour price here:** Hanoi–Sapa bus or train, travel insurance, most tips, drinks not listed, Fansipan tickets. Transport modes: How to Get from Hanoi to Sapa.
Private vs Shared
**Private (this site):** your booking, your guide, min two paying guests. You are not waiting for seat eight.
**Shared / join-in (market, not sold here):** often cheaper **per solo person** because the guide and vehicle split. Quality varies. This page does **not** invent those headlines.
A couple comparing Easy Trek last published from €32 each to a cheap mixed day that never walks Lao Chai is not comparing the same product. A **solo** paying two Easy Trek seats is paying for privacy. If that is more than the day is worth, a join-in with another operator can be the better spend — say so, then stop pretending this catalogue is a group desk.
Guide
You are paying for **an English-speaking local guide** and judgment: weather, mud, where to turn around, language in the village. That is the core of Easy Trek, Full-Day, 2-Day, Town Walk, and Family Homestay as listed.
You are **not** paying for a celebrity, a translator on call 24 hours, or a guarantee of empty terraces.
Tips are listed as optional/excluded on these products. Do not treat a from-price as “all-in forever.”
Private Expeditions is still a guide day (or days), priced for the brief — not a published €/hour.
Transport
**Not included:** Hanoi–Sapa. Budget that separately. Ranges: Sapa Budget & Daily Travel Costs.
**Often included on valley days (confirm the live included list):** Easy Trek lists a **private car from Ta Van to Sapa**. Full-Day and 2-Day list return logistics on their itineraries (pickup where the walk ends). That car is a large part of why a private valley day is not a “guide only” fee.
Town Walk excluded list includes hotel pickup **outside central Sapa town**. Family Homestay itinerary uses a vehicle into Ta Van and back — still not Hanoi.
Motorbike rental and Grab to viewpoints are **your** cash if you go independently.
Meals
**Easy Trek:** restaurant lunch listed as included.
**Full-Day:** family-cooked lunch listed (base meals as itinerary).
**2-Day Homestay Trek:** local meals as listed, plus the homestay night.
**Family Homestay:** family dinner and breakfast as listed; this is why it is not comparable to a $30 room.
**Town Walk:** lunch **not** in the included list; optional café drinks excluded.
Street breakfasts and extra beers are personal expenses. Homestay food is a household kitchen, not a tasting menu — Homestay in Sapa — What to Expect.
Homestay
A homestay **product** price is guide + meals + night + village access, not a bed. Family Homestay last published from **€69** per person (min two). 2-Day Homestay Trek last published from **€98** because you also **walk two days**. Prices may change. Please confirm the latest price before booking.
Hotel nights in town are extra unless you only booked the day walk. Ensuite vs household: Homestay vs Hotel in Sapa. Other standalone nights: Which Sapa Homestay Is Right for You — confirm those live from-prices; this page does not invent them.
Independent village overnight without a hosting arrangement is **not recommended** and is not a saving.
Entrance Fees
**Full-Day and 2-Day** included lists name **entrance fees to ethnic villages**. Easy Trek’s live included list names guide, lunch, water, Ta Van car — it does **not** use that same entrance-fee line. Confirm the current PDP so you are not surprised at a checkpoint.
Town Walk: the product FAQ states Stone Church from outside; named temples/museum on that itinerary as free of charge at time of writing — policies change; this is not a ticket shop.
**Fansipan cable car** is a separate ticket, often one of the largest single costs in Sapa. We do not sell it. Do not bake an invented VND figure into a trek price. Context: Fansipan, budget page.
Cat Cat is a ticketed site we **do not** sell.
Walking Difficulty
You do not pay more because a page says “premium.” You pay more when the day is **longer** (Full-Day vs Easy Trek) or includes an **overnight** (2-Day vs Easy Trek).
Easy Trek is marketed Easy and graded Moderate. Full-Day is more distance, not a luxury tax. Family Homestay is cheaper than 2-Day Homestay Trek because it is **not** two trekking days.
Paying Full-Day money for Easy Trek legs is wasted. Paying Easy Trek money and expecting 14–16 km of waterfall country is the wrong SKU. Safety: Sapa Trekking Safety.
Group Size
Catalogue private products require **two paying guests**. A pair already matches the floor. A family of four pays four. A solo traveller pays the two-person minimum or pairs with another booking.
That floor is why “private guide cost” for one person is **not** last-published €32. It is two seats of the product they chose — unless they book a join-in elsewhere.
Private Expeditions still prices by itinerary and group size. More people can lower the per-person vehicle/guide share on a custom day; it does not turn the trail into a coach.
Do not arrive as one person expecting a one-seat Easy Trek rate.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much is a private Sapa tour?
Depends on the day. Last published from-prices: Town Walk €28; Easy Trek €32; Full-Day €45; Family Homestay €69; 2-Day Homestay Trek €98 — per person, min two. Prices may change. Please confirm the latest price before booking. Expeditions have no from-price.
Why is a private guide not €10?
A published from-price here is a **bundle** (guide time, usually meals as listed, often a valley car or a homestay night) for your party, not a tout’s per-head jeep seat. Cheap headlines omit pieces.
Is Easy Trek good value?
For two people who will actually walk 10–12 km in Muong Hoa, last-published €32 each is the usual first private day on this site. For a solo who wanted a social $20 loop, maybe not. Confirm live. Decision: Best Day Tours in Sapa.
Do prices include the bus from Hanoi?
No. Hanoi–Sapa is your arrangement on every product listed here.
What does the Easy Trek price include?
As listed live: private English-speaking guide, restaurant lunch, water, private car from Ta Van, local support. Excludes personal extras, insurance, extra drinks, optional tips. Prices may change. Please confirm the latest price before booking.
Why is Full-Day more than Easy Trek?
More walking (~14–16 km vs 10–12 km), different finish, family lunch as listed. Last published from €45 vs €32. Not a status upgrade of the same loop.
Why is Family Homestay not cheaper than a hotel?
You are not buying a $30 room. Last published from €69 bundles host, meals as listed, transfer as itinerary, optional short walks. Hotel + restaurants is a different spreadsheet.
Can one person hire a private guide?
Yes by paying the two-guest minimum. A join-in day with another operator is often the cheaper solo format.
Why don’t Private Expeditions show a from-price?
The brief changes the cost (hours, vehicle, routing). A fake from-price would be invented. Ask for a quote when Easy Trek is the wrong shape.
Are village entrance fees extra?
On Full-Day and 2-Day the included list names village entrance fees. Easy Trek’s listed included does not use that line — confirm the live page. Fansipan and Cat Cat tickets are separate and not sold here.
Do you have a group-tour price?
No group SKU. This page will not invent one.
I still don’t know what to book.
Pick the day that matches your legs, then read the live from-price. Hub: What Tour Should I Book in Sapa. If unsure and you can walk, Easy Trek is the priced default — confirm today’s number on the product page. Prices may change. Please confirm the latest price before booking.
